Summary
Part-time (15–20 hrs/week, 3-month trial) contract role supporting a U.S. client's AWS infrastructure: deployments, monitoring, patching, and SOC 2 compliance, plus hands-on help for full-stack Node.js/TypeScript and React developers. Remote within South Africa, with at least 1 hour overlap between 9am-12pm EST.

Our U.S based client is looking to hire a Senior-Level Developer with strong AWS & DevOps experience to support their infrastructure and ongoing platform needs. This role is part-time (15–20 hours/week) and is ideal for someone who already has another role or is freelancing.
This is a hands-on execution role, not a purely architectural or advisory position. You'll be responsible for keeping our infrastructure stable, secure, and compliant while supporting our full-stack development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Infrastructure & DevOps
- Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure.
- Handle deployments, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Own package updates and security patches
Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems remain SOC 2 compliant
- Manage updates, access controls, and best practices
Development Support
- Support and collaborate with our Full Stack Developers.
- Step in to complete infrastructure-related tasks as needed.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize workflows

Must-Have Experience
Senior-level development experience with AWS
Strong DevOps background (CI/CD, infrastructure maintenance, deployments)

Comfortable working independently and staying on top of infrastructure needs
Experience supporting or working alongside full-stack development teams
