We are hiring a Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer
Hybrid working model – Novi Sad or Belgrade
Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure environments. In this role, you will be responsible for driving infrastructure architecture decisions, defining cloud standards and best practices, and leading the delivery of scalable, secure, and highly available AWS solutions. The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on experience across AWS networking, infrastructure automation, observability, security, and infrastructure architecture, combined with strong leadership and project delivery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Play a key role in infrastructure projects from discovery and design through implementation and production rollout
Design and maintain scalable AWS architectures, including High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation (HLD/LLD)
Contribute to technical discovery, capacity planning, performance optimization, observability, storage strategies, and operational excellence initiatives
Implement and evolve multi-account, multi-environment AWS architectures utilizing Hub-and-Spoke VPC models and AWS Transit Gateway
Define and maintain network security controls including AWS Network Firewall, VPN solutions, and centralized security policies
Design and manage ingress architectures utilizing Application Load Balancers (ALB), REST API routing, and WebSocket connectivity
Implement and maintain AWS WAF and AWS Shield security solutions
Design resilient compute and storage architectures leveraging EC2, EBS, S3, and Aurora PostgreSQL
Implement infrastructure automation and configuration management using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
Manage and harden Windows Server environments and modern identity management solutions utilizing AWS Systems Manager (SSM)
Build and optimize observability platforms using OpenTelemetry, AWS Managed Prometheus, Grafana Cloud, and centralized logging solutions
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines supporting automated deployments across Staging, UAT, and Production environments
Collaborate with development, security, and platform engineering teams to ensure scalable and secure cloud solutions
Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and best practices across infrastructure initiatives
Your Profile
Must Have Requirements
5+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Architecture roles
Proven experience working on large-scale AWS infrastructure projects from design through production deployment
Strong expertise in AWS architecture and design for enterprise-grade cloud environments
Hands-on experience with AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) and Hub-and-Spoke VPC architectures
Strong knowledge of AWS Network Firewall, Site-to-Site VPN, Client VPN, AWS WAF, and AWS Shield
Extensive experience with AWS EC2, EBS, S3, and Aurora PostgreSQL
Strong understanding of infrastructure design for high availability, scalability, performance, and security
Experience with AWS Systems Manager (SSM) and modern cloud-native infrastructure management approaches
Advanced proficiency with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
Automation experience with Ansible
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Experience producing technical documentation including architecture diagrams, HLDs, and LLDs
Nice to Have
Experience working within financial services, banking, or other highly regulated industries
Experience with containerized environments and Kubernetes
Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks in cloud environments
Hands-on experience implementing OpenTelemetry, centralized logging, monitoring, and observability solutions
Experience with AWS Managed Prometheus and Grafana
Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and environment promotion strategies
Experience implementing immutable logging and audit solutions using S3 Object Lock
Familiarity with Google Chat, Slack, or similar alerting and notification integrations
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Advanced Networking, Security Specialty, or equivalent)
Experience administering and securing Windows Server environments
