- Contract: 12 months with 3*12 month extensions

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to play a key role in the delivery and evolution of a large-scale Enterprise AI Platform.
Working within a multidisciplinary technology team, you will help design, build and operate secure, scalable, and cost-effective platform capabilities that enable the adoption of Artificial Intelligence across a complex enterprise environment. This role is ideal for a platform engineering professional who is passionate about cloud technologies, automation, security, and creating exceptional developer experiences through platform enablement.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and operating cloud platform services that support AI-enabled workloads while ensuring security, compliance, reliability, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain platform services, automation, and integration components aligned with organisational strategies and architectural direction.
- Implement and maintain security controls, guardrails, and policy-as-code to ensure compliance with organisational policies and industry security frameworks.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment patterns to enable consistent and repeatable platform delivery.
- Collaborate with architecture, security, and product teams to translate requirements into scalable and supportable platform solutions.
- Implement and operate cost-management controls, monitoring, and optimisation practices to support efficient cloud consumption.
- Build and maintain standardised platform patterns, reusable modules, and "golden path" solutions that accelerate onboarding and delivery team adoption.
- Support AI platform workloads through the implementation of controls and patterns relating to data security, model lifecycle management, service isolation, observability, and responsible AI practices.
About You
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking including segmentation, routing, DNS, and private connectivity.
- Expertise in identity and access management, including federation, IAM/RBAC, privileged access management, and least-privilege design principles.
- Experience implementing security services such as Key Vault, AWS KMS, encryption, secrets management, and certificate management.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
- Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience implementing automated security controls, governance frameworks, and policy-as-code solutions.
- Hands-on experience supporting production cloud environments, including incident response, root cause analysis, and operational improvement.
- Experience supporting AI, ML, or cloud-native data platforms.
- Exposure to MLOps or AI platform technologies.
- Experience with FinOps, cloud cost optimisation, and consumption governance.
