We have an urgent requirement for a Senior Azure Data Engineer with 9+ years of experience for our client Atlas Copco.
About the Role
The Senior Azure Data Engineer is responsible for building and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms on Azure. This role involves end-to-end ownership of data pipelines, architectural decisions, and ensuring best practices in performance, cost optimization, and security.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end Azure data solutions
- Build and optimize data pipelines and data platforms
- Act as a technical authority for data engineering initiatives
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security compliance
- Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and optimization
- Define and enforce data engineering standards best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and support team growth
- Drive continuous improvement in platform performance and cost
- Document architectures, processes, and solutions
Required Skills Experience
Must Have:
- 9+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Cloud Platforms
- Strong expertise in Azure Data Platform, including:
- Azure Data Factory
- Databricks
- Delta Lake
- Snowflake
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, PySpark
- Strong experience with DevOps/DataOps practices
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure as Code
- Azure DevOps / Jenkins / Git
- Experience in data validation, testing, and performance optimization
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, data security governance
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to make technical decisions and communicate effectively
Good to Have:
- Knowledge of Java / .NET
- Exposure to Azure AI services (Azure ML, OpenAI, Cognitive Services)
- Understanding of AI/ML data pipelines and integrations
- Part of the Global IT / Product Engineering team
- Owns end-to-end data solution lifecycle
