Senior Back-end Engineer - Perl

- Develop and deploy advanced technical features
- Implement technologies for improved performance, efficiency, and reliability
- Create innovative solutions to meet customer needs
- Enhance availability, reliability, and performance of core systems
- Modify existing software, design, and test commercial software to meet customer needs
- Engage in the entire development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to design
- Lead client customizations and service implementation
- Draft technical specifications based on design and business requirements
- Ensure ongoing product availability, serviceability, and maintenance
- Support, maintain, and document software functionality
- Troubleshoot and revise code to rectify errors
- Provide expert knowledge in the feature area and oversee quality
- Build scalable systems as part of a feature team
- Research and assess new technologies for implementation
- Collaborate across multiple teams for technology planning
- Daily communication and collaboration with on-site and remote teams
- Aid customer support in resolving issues
- Participate in rotational on-call duties
- 5+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of experience with Perl
- Experience with Open Source is mandatory
- Experience with cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Experience with the SaaS industry
- Expertise in messaging integration for microservices
- Dedication to overall product/service quality and the resulting experience
- Ability to make decisions, resolve conflicts, and follow through with partners
- Strong communication skills in both spoken and written English
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Startup experience
- Experience with Python, and Node.js
- Experience with MariaDB/MySQL and PostgreSQL
