With over 500 million monthly users across thousands of communities, the product sits at the intersection of social interaction, real-time content discovery, and large-scale data-driven experiences.

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-impact Content Platform team working on large-scale system modernization.

In this role, you’ll focus on migrating legacy Python services from a monolithic architecture to modern, scalable Go-based microservices owned by various product teams. You’ll leverage internal tools and frameworks designed to accelerate this transition and play a key role in improving system performance, reliability, and scalability.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys tackling complex engineering challenges, working in fast-paced environments, and collaborating across distributed teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Back-End development, preferably in fast-paced, high-scale environments
  • Strong expertise in Go and Python (Go is a must-have)
  • Solid experience working with APIs (GraphQL Router and Federation is a plus)
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools, systems, and architectures
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in distributed teams

Responsibilities
  • Migrate and refactor existing Python-based logic into Go within GraphQL API services
  • Quickly ramp up on internal tools, systems, and processes to accelerate migration efforts
  • Collaborate closely with engineers across multiple teams to ensure smooth and efficient delivery
  • Debug complex production issues and provide clear, actionable solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with strong validation practices
  • Identify gaps and contribute to improving internal migration tools and processes
Availability expectations
  • Minimum 5 hours overlap with PST is required (full overlap with PST time zone is preferred)
