About the Role

At Akakçe, we operate web and mobile platforms used by millions of users. We are looking for Senior Backend

Engineers who can design, build, improve, and operate reliable systems that directly affect user experience and

business outcomes.

This role is for engineers who enjoy solving complex backend problems, improving existing systems, and building

simple, scalable solutions. Technology experience is important, but we care more about engineering judgment,

ownership, debugging ability, and problem-solving depth.

What You Will Do

• Understand product and business problems, then design practical technical solutions.
• Build and improve backend services, APIs, data flows, and integrations.
• Work on systems that must perform reliably under high user traffic.
• Improve performance, scalability, maintainability, and observability of existing systems.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, mobile, data, QA, and infrastructure teams.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code.
• Reduce unnecessary complexity in existing systems.
• Take ownership of features and systems beyond initial development.

What We Look For

• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to reason about system design, data modeling, APIs, performance, and failure cases.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience building production backend systems.
• Good understanding of relational databases and query behavior.
• Ability to design maintainable code and refactor existing code safely.
• Awareness of testing, monitoring, logging, deployment, and operational concerns.Clear communication and strong collaboration skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies when needed.
• Ownership mindset and result-oriented attitude.

Current Technologies We Use

• MSSQL or other relational databases
• Queueing systems such as RabbitMQ
• Python in some areas
• High-traffic web systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-load platforms.
• Experience with distributed systems, caching, queues, background jobs, and performance optimization.
• Experience improving legacy systems without unnecessary rewrites.
• Experience with automated testing and clean architecture practices.
