You will own the backend that powers a scale-out product used by millions, building high-quality Node.js/TypeScript services and robust APIs within a collaborative team. You’ll ensure performance, reliability, and observability while aligning with architectural standards and driving uptime. The role offers leadership on complex systems, mentorship, and a clear path to career progression as the company scales.

- Design and deliver maintainable backend code and features using Node.js and TypeScript
- Design, implement and extend APIs and microservices for gameplay, user management, platform and content management
- Collaborate with product and game teams to align features with backend architecture
- Coordinate with DevOps to ensure uptime, observability and deployment reliability
- Own complex systems, addressing performance and scalability bottlenecks
- Support system performance, reliability, and 99% uptime SLA
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to technical leadership
- Ensure code is tested and aligned with established architectural standards
- Node.js and TypeScript experience
- Kafka and Event Driven Architectures
- Microservices, RESTful APIs, scalable system architecture
- Relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
- DevOps mindset, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Containerisation (Docker), AWS, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
- Ability to own projects and collaborate with Lead Engineer
