As a Senior Backend Developer, you're the person quietly keeping the engine room running while everyone else admires the paintwork. You'll join a sharp, energetic team of engineers to design and build new features, keep the existing Wamly platform happy and healthy, and own the backend code and infrastructure that everything else quietly stands on.
What you’ll do:
- Own the Engine Room: Build and own the backend code and infrastructure that the entire Wamly platform stands on.
- Design and Build: Join a sharp, energetic engineering team to design and ship new features in Java and Spring Boot.
- Keep it Healthy: Keep the existing Wamly platform fast, stable and happy, treating a clean deploy as a small act of joy.
- Ship in Rhythm: Work inside an Agile team, Scrum or Kanban, and live the sprint cadence with the rest of engineering.
You’ll thrive here if you have:
- 5+ years of backend development experience in a working environment, ideally somewhere fast-paced enough to keep things interesting.
- An Information Technology or Computer Science degree, or the equivalent, essential.
- Core stack fluency: Java with Spring Boot/Spring Framework, relational databases and SQL (MySQL), and REST APIs that other people happily build on top of.
- Solid grip on cloud technologies (AWS: Lambda, RDS, ECS, S3), token-based authentication methods, and unit test frameworks, because you actually test your code.
- Git version control and real experience shipping production services for actual users.
- AWS certificates and a Java OCA.
- Containerisation (Docker), CI/CD pipelines, and Terraform.
- Java libraries such as Hibernate, Lombok and friends.
You’ll have a direct hand in building the backbone of a rapidly growing SaaS business, taking true ownership of the infrastructure everything else at Wamly quietly stands on.
