Senior backend engineer who builds the production platform behind OMMAX's agentic AI customer solutions: designing scalable APIs, async workflows, queues, and distributed services in Python/TypeScript, creating orchestration for LLM agents (tool calling, state, approvals), enterprise integrations, plus observability and evaluation tooling.
- You build the production backbone that enables our Forward Deployed AI Engineers (FDEs) to turn agentic workflows into secure, reliable, measurable, and reusable customer solutions.
- You design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, asynchronous workflows, queues, databases, and distributed systems using Python, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.
- You create robust orchestration patterns for agentic systems, including tool calling, stateful workflows, routing, retries, human approvals, and context management.
- You build and maintain integrations with enterprise systems and SaaS applications, including OAuth, webhooks, SDKs, API clients, and data ingestion pipelines.
- You ensure production reliability through resilient error handling, idempotent design, rate-limit management, fallbacks, audit logs, and effective incident debugging.
- You develop evaluation and observability capabilities, including test datasets, trace capture, quality metrics, structured logging, workflow-level dashboards, and cost and latency monitoring.
- You establish shared platform primitives, templates, security standards, and governance patterns that accelerate each new FDE deployment while protecting customer data.
- You hold a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- You have 4-6 years of experience in backend engineering, platform engineering, distributed systems, or comparable software engineering roles.
- You have strong hands-on programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or both, and a solid understanding of modern software engineering best practices.
- You have experience designing and operating scalable APIs, asynchronous systems, queues, databases, and distributed services in production environments.
- You are familiar with enterprise integrations, including OAuth, webhooks, REST APIs, SDKs, and data ingestion or normalisation pipelines.
- You have practical experience with LLM or agentic application patterns, such as tool calling, orchestration, state management, retrieval, evaluation, or observability.
- You are fluent in English and able to communicate technical topics clearly with engineers, FDEs, and client stakeholders; additional local language skills are a plus.
