Senior Backend Engineer Analytics Instrumentation Golang

You will guide the design, implementation, and evolution of a unified data collection platform. You will improve instrumentation data quality, provide technical guidance during incidents, collaborate across stakeholders, make reliability-focused technical decisions, and mentor engineers through reviews, design discussions, and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the design, implementation, and evolution of a unified data collection platform using Golang, Kubernetes, ClickHouse, and NATS.
  • Improve the emission, transit, and quality of instrumentation data.
  • Provide technical guidance for usage billing and instrumentation systems during working hours.
  • Work with research and development teams and the enterprise data organization to deliver common solutions.
  • Make technical choices that balance ease of use, reliability, and correctness.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Significant experience with platform or infrastructure systems in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Go and experience building and maintaining production services.
  • Strong backend development experience designing scalable, reliable systems.
  • Experience guiding technical design and making tradeoffs involving reliability, performance, data quality, and observability.
  • Experience working across product teams, data consumers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with cloud native technologies and open source development practices.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and documenting technical choices.
