Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with a strong background in Go to design and build reliable, scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning core services end-to-end, has worked on transactional or payment-related systems where correctness matters, and can operate independently with minimal onboarding.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain core backend services in Go.
• Build and own domain models and business logic for high-traffic, transactional systems.
• Design and implement integrations with third-party and external systems (identity, payments, data providers).
• Build and maintain event-driven architecture: message queues, outbox/inbox patterns, background jobs.
• Ensure correctness, reliability, and auditability of transactional and payment-related flows.
• Set and enforce technical standards, coding practices, and code review quality.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 4+ years building production systems in Go.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems concepts: message queues, event-driven architecture, idempotency, eventual consistency.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful and/or gRPC APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, schema design, and query optimization.
• Experience with payment, identity, or other systems where correctness and data integrity are critical.
• Strong grasp of testing practices (unit, integration) and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding/ramp time.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-team collaboration.

Preferred:

• Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with observability tooling (logging, tracing, metrics).
