About the role
We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (AWS) to build and run enterprise-grade, cloud-native applications on AWS for a regulated-sector programme in Singapore.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful APIs, microservices and backend integration services
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimisation and data integrity
- Build event-driven integrations using message queues
- Apply software design patterns, enterprise architecture and secure coding practices
- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS with Docker and Kubernetes
- Contribute to GitLab CI/CD pipelines within Agile delivery teams
- Debug, troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
What you will bring
- 4 to 7 years of backend software development experience building enterprise-grade applications
- Python, Node.js or Java
- RESTful APIs and microservices
- Relational and NoSQL databases
- Message queues and event-driven architecture
- Software design patterns and secure coding
- AWS cloud-native development
- Docker and Kubernetes
- GitLab, CI/CD and Agile practices
- Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications & certifications
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT or related field
Work arrangement
- Location: Singapore, on-site at client premises
- Employment type: Contract / Permanent / Full Time
- Working days: Monday to Friday
- The successful candidate must be able to obtain the required government security clearance before starting
- Candidates with existing CAT security clearance will be preferred
