About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the core engineering squad behind Bridgewise's flagship B2B SaaS platform. A high-scale, enterprise-grade solution built to power tier-1 global financial institutions and process complex data for millions of users worldwide under strict performance, availability, and security SLAs.

In this role, you will hold technical ownership over complex features for our high-impact platform, from technical design through production delivery, scaling, and monitoring for our flagship product. You will work closely with Product, Algorithms, DevOps, and Architecture teams to execute our core product roadmap.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with microservices architecture (Python preferred, or similar modern languages).
• Proven track record in high-scale distributed systems or B2B SaaS platforms, handling complex business logic, enterprise integrations, and strict performance SLAs.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services and container orchestration using Kubernetes (K8s).
• Solid experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase is an advantage) and event-driven architectures (Apache Kafka / Confluent).
• Strong system design capabilities with the ability to participate in design reviews and collaborate constructively with architects.
• Capability to own, execute, and deliver features end-to-end to production.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in FinTech, capital markets, or high-scale financial data platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or or equivalent practical / military technology experience .
• Proficient user of Claude Code and AI-assisted development tools, leveraging AI capabilities to increase efficiency, development velocity, and code quality.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Familiarity with observability tooling: Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack.
• Application security knowledge: OWASP Top 10, secure coding practices, secrets management, JWT/OAuth2.

Responsibilities

• Own the full software development lifecycle of complex features end-to-end, from technical design and clean-code implementation to automated testing, production deployment, and monitoring.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance microservices (Python preferred) running on Kubernetes (AWS), ensuring high availability, low latency, and resilience for enterprise B2B SaaS operations.
• Design and implement fault-tolerant event-driven pipelines using Apache Kafka (Confluent). Handle advanced streaming patterns including consumer groups, offset management, and dead-letter queues (DLQ) to ensure continuous data flow.
• Model and query NoSQL databases (Couchbase, Redis, Elasticsearch) to optimize data access patterns, maintain high throughput, and ensure data integrity across distributed systems handling millions of daily portfolios.
• Build secure, reliable, and backward-compatible RESTful APIs and platform integration layers consumed by top-tier enterprise clients and internal microservices.
• Write production-ready, maintainable code using automated testing (TDD/CI/CD) and modern observability tooling, ensuring high operational standards and system resilience (circuit breakers, retries).
