🚀 We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for CVAT.ai. CVAT (Computer Vision Annotation Tool) is a leading open-source platform, trusted by 250,000+ teams.
What you will be doing
Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs for CVAT.ai (check GitHub repository)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into clean, scalable code
Optimize backend systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
Integrate machine learning, computer vision models and AI tools into the platform
Apply best practices in security and compliance
Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to uphold code quality
What we expect from you
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years of hands-on experience in backend development
Strong proficiency in Python 3+, Django (or similar frameworks)
Familiarity with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and version control systems (Git)
Comfort with productivity-enhancing tools and AI-assisted development
Good command of English (Intermediate level or higher)
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
Nice-to-have
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Familiarity with frontend technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ TypeScript
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Contributions to open-source projects like GitHub
