Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

Summary

Build and own scalable, low-latency Go services for core financial accounts and wallets, ensuring high concurrency, data consistency, and robust transaction handling.

  • Own the architecture and development of the core account and wallet systems, building high-concurrency, low-latency, horizontally scalable services in Go
  • Own the data model, transaction design, and concurrency strategy of the financial core, and define system-wide idempotency and consistency standards
  • Lead domain modelling and module boundary design; define API contracts and the integration standards other systems build against
  • Lead the migration of financial data from existing production systems, and establish reconciliation, alerting, and discrepancy-handling processes
  • Drive performance optimisation and reliability engineering on critical paths (capacity planning, rate limiting and degradation, phased rollout and rollback), build out observability (logging, metrics, distributed tracing), and drive SLO definition and post-incident review practice
  • Contribute to technology selection, review all code involving monetary logic, produce technical design documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
