Senior Backend Engineer (GO) (m/f/d)

YOUR ROLE

• Design, build and run backend services in Go, from concept through to production and beyond
• Shape the architecture of our content platforms and our ad tech stack, with a focus on performance, reliability, security and simplicity
• Work on high-traffic systems and large data volumes, from real-time event streams to analytical reporting over billions of records
• Build services that are secure by default: authentication, access control, user data protection and compliance with privacy requirements
• Move remaining legacy services to Go and help keep our codebase lean
• Take ownership of key technical topics and drive decisions together with the team
• Review code, mentor other engineers and help set technical standards

YOUR SKILLS

• Several years of professional backend development, with Go as your main language
• Solid experience with SQL and relational databases (we mainly use MySQL), including query optimization
• Hands-on experience with several parts of our data stack: MongoDB, ClickHouse, Kafka, Redis
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing and deployments
• Experience with Linux and running services in production: monitoring, debugging, performance tuning
• A strong grasp of concurrency, distributed systems and designing for scale
• Solid understanding of application security: common vulnerabilities, authentication and authorization, secure handling of secrets and personal data
• A preference for simple, explicit code over heavy frameworks and deep abstractions
• Experience with Rust is a plus
• Good knowledge of English and/or German
