JOB DESCRIPTION:

At Oolio, Senior Backend Engineers – Golang are hands-on engineers who design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. You will take ownership across the backend engineering lifecycle — from technical design and development through testing, deployment, observability, and production support.

The role requires strong expertise in Golang, microservices, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud-native technologies, and system performance. As AI continues to transform software engineering, you will also be encouraged to leverage AI-powered development tools, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity, accelerate delivery, enhance code quality, and solve real-world engineering problems.

The primary focus of this role is hands-on backend engineering, with opportunities to contribute to technical design, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices. You will work closely with Product, Design, Platform, and Engineering teams to build customer-facing products and backend capabilities that support Oolio's growing global platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain reliable and scalable backend services using Golang.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable microservices with strong emphasis on performance, concurrency, maintainability, and reliability.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions, including HLD/LLD, service boundaries, data flows, and integration patterns.
• Design and implement event-driven systems using asynchronous messaging, queues, pub/sub, and streaming patterns where appropriate.
• Build and maintain RESTful and/or gRPC APIs that power web, mobile, and third-party integrations.
• Work collaboratively across the stack when required, including integration with React and Node.js services to deliver end-to-end product features.
• Develop and operate cloud-native services deployed on AWS, leveraging Kubernetes and Docker for containerized environments.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and reliability bottlenecks as product usage and customer scale increase.
• Implement effective testing strategies including unit, integration, contract, and performance testing.
• Contribute to observability best practices including structured logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and alerting.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards, coding practices, and overall code quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions within agreed timelines.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools and automation to improve development productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and software delivery.
• Explore and adopt relevant AI capabilities and engineering tools that can solve practical software development and operational challenges.

Education: Preferred – B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/M.E/MCA/M.S

(A) Core Engineering:

(B) Good/Nice to Have:

ReactJS, NodeJS, GraphQL

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong hands-on experience building production-grade backend systems in SaaS or product-based organisations.
• Strong expertise in Golang, including concurrency patterns, goroutines, channels, memory management, profiling, and performance optimization.
• Proven experience developing and operating scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of API design, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures, and system reliability principles.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, or similar databases, including schema design, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native application development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development and delivery practices.
• Good understanding of observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, fault tolerance, and production reliability.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing long-term improvements.
• Experience working in high-scale or high-transaction environments is highly desirable.
• Practical experience leveraging AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery outcomes.
• Exposure to AI-powered workflows across development, testing, documentation, deployment, or operational processes is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced product engineering environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and engineering teams while taking ownership of assigned services and features.
• Strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, well-tested, and production-ready code.
