Senior Backend Engineer Markets Engineering
You will design, implement, and operate systems that create, manage, and resolve markets at scale. You will build automation pipelines, integrate external data sources, develop event-driven processing, and maintain reliable, scalable production systems. You will diagnose production issues, contribute to code reviews and architectural decisions, and work with product, infrastructure, data, and markets operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement pipelines that automate market creation, parameter configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Build data-driven resolution systems that integrate with external oracles, news feeds, sports APIs, and real-world data sources.
- Build event-processing systems using messaging and streaming platforms.
- Reinforce correctness, availability, and scalability across markets systems.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, data, and markets operations.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architectural decisions.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Proficiency in Python or Go, or another language such as Rust or Java.
- Understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience building automation systems, workflow orchestration, or integrations with third-party data sources and APIs.
- Ability to debug complex systems on Linux and own correctness and reliability.
