Senior Backend Engineer
Description
Location: Remote (US)
Pay: $205,000–$270,000 + equity
A late-stage, venture-backed enterprise AI company needs a senior backend engineer for the services behind its AI agents. These agents talk to people in real time, so latency and reliability are the product.
What you'll do
Design and scale the backend for agent products
Work with ML and frontend engineers to bring agents into production
Cut latency and raise reliability on high-volume services
Handle large data volumes efficiently and safely
Share on-call for the services you own
What you bring
5+ years of backend engineering
gRPC and REST API design
SQL and NoSQL schema and query tuning
Kubernetes, Docker and microservices on AWS, GCP or Azure
Experience building AI or virtual agent systems
BS in Computer Science
Nice to have: queues and distributed orchestration; Python with FastAPI, Flask or Django
