Day to day: end-to-end feature ownership from architecture through production, using Node.js/TypeScript microservices on AWS with MongoDB, Redis, and Docker, on-site in Tel Aviv.
The company is a leading direct-to-consumer platform for app publishers, processing more than $1B annually. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will build and evolve core backend systems — high-scale, cloud-native services that power critical business flows — with end-to-end ownership from design and architecture to production, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain scalable, high-availability backend services in cloud-native environments.
- Own features end-to-end: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
- Contribute to system architecture, API design, data modeling, and event-driven flows.
- Write maintainable code and participate in design/code reviews.
- Optimize performance, reliability, and resource usage.
- Collaborate with Product on translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Mentor other engineers and improve engineering standards.
Requirements
Requirements (must-have):
- 5+ years building scalable backend systems and end-to-end web applications.
- Strong Node.js/TypeScript backend development.
- Microservice architecture design and implementation; event-driven flows.
- Cloud-based environments (AWS preferred).
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and caching solutions (Redis).
- Docker containerization experience.
- Production-grade system architecture and software design knowledge.
- Ownership mindset, strong problem-solving; startup experience valued.
Nice to have:
- Kubernetes experience.
