About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Node.js to join their high-performing, fully remote engineering team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and robust server-side applications and APIs that power their core products. This role demands a deep understanding of backend architecture, database management, and cloud infrastructure. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions and maintain a high standard of code quality and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable server-side code using Node.js.
- Develop and manage RESTful APIs and microservices that support complex applications.
- Optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system architecture for scalability and security.
- Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Implement robust security and data protection measures.
- Participate in architectural discussions, code reviews, and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or Senior Software Engineer, with extensive experience in Node.js.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and JavaScript best practices.
- Experience with database technologies, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
- Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
