Senior Backend Engineer – payment infrastructure at scale
Summary
Dintero, a Norwegian fintech, seeks a senior backend engineer in Oslo to design, build, and operate payment infrastructure APIs handling 150M+ API calls monthly. The role involves end-to-end ownership of critical distributed systems, architectural decisions, and production reliability, with cloud experience (AWS a plus).
Dintero develops and operates payment infrastructure handling more than 150 million API calls every month. We are looking for a senior backend engineer who wants end-to-end ownership of critical systems where reliability and correctness matter.
What you will do- Design and own backend services end-to-end
- Build APIs used by merchants and partners
- Make architectural decisions with long-term impact
- Improve scalability, observability and operational quality
- Ship frequently and own what you run in production
- At least five years of backend development experience
- Experience with distributed systems and architectural trade-offs
- Experience owning complex production systems
- Cloud experience; AWS is a plus
- Scandinavian language is a plus, but not required
- Real ownership of critical payment systems
- A strong engineering culture with short decision paths
