Senior backend engineer payments/banking integrations (contract to hire)

Roost is a fintech platform automating security deposit refunds for multifamily operators. We’ve built the workflows end-to-end—now we’re focused on strengthening and scaling our bank integration layer.

We’re looking for someone who has already built and shipped production-grade money movement systems to extend our Wells Fargo integration and enhance how funds move through our platform.

What you’ll do:

• Own bank-integrated fund flows end-to-end
• Connect transfers to existing workflow events
• Ensure reliability (idempotency, retries, error handling)
• Support auditability and reconciliation

This is a high-impact role where financial accuracy matters—you’ll directly shape how money moves through our system, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role.

Looking for:

• Strong backend experience (Node.js preferred)
• Proven experience building and owning payments or banking integrations in production
• Understanding of ACH, book transfers, and fund flow design
