About the role Boku Inc. is looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to become part of its Innovation team in Singapore. This position focuses on developing a new suite of payment platforms using Java and Spring Boot. The role includes designing services that handle high traffic, creating RESTful and gRPC APIs, ensuring data security and reliability, and working alongside teams located in different regions.

What you’ll do- Design and implement high-throughput backend services for payment solutions.
- Develop and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs to facilitate efficient communication.
- Ensure the reliability and security of data handling processes.
- Collaborate with offshore teams to align on project goals and deliverables.
- Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline and manage deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Maintain compliance with PCI DSS standards.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend software development.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for building scalable applications.
- Previous experience in the fintech sector, specifically in payment systems.
- Familiarity with RESTful and gRPC API design and implementation.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and tools.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment.
- Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance requirements.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
