Job Description: Senior Backend Engineer – GCP, Java, Spring Boot
Position: Senior Backend Engineer
Years of Experience: 7 – 12 Years.
Location: Bangalore (ready to work 2-3 days from office)
Shift 2: 2 PM – 11 PM IST

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong
hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Backend Engineering, and GCP.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience in building scalable
and reliable backend applications, developing microservices and APIs,
and deploying or supporting cloud-native applications on GCP. Exposure
to Terraform and Kafka will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications
using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Build and deploy backend applications and services on GCP.
- Work with appropriate GCP services for application hosting, storage,
messaging, monitoring, and integration.
- Develop clean, maintainable, testable, and reusable backend code
following engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to performance,
scalability, reliability, and integrations.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews.
- Implement appropriate unit and integration testing to ensure
application quality.
- Work closely with other developers, QA, DevOps, and engineering
teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and cloud-based application
deployments.
- Apply appropriate practices for application security, logging,
monitoring, exception handling, and observability.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 7–12 years of overall software development/engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience in backend application development and
engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience developing microservices and REST APIs.
- Good understanding of distributed backend applications and
cloud-native development.
- Experience with application debugging, troubleshooting, and
performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, coding
standards, version control, and testing practices.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on exposure to Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or event-driven/messaging systems.
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Docker/containerized applications.
- Exposure to Kubernetes/GKE.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
