Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join their innovative team in Benoni. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js. Develop and manage robust APIs and microservices, ensuring high performance and responsiveness. Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, often in collaboration with frontend developers. Implement and manage database schemas, optimize queries, and ensure data integrity. Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior backend engineers. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development. Strong proficiency in at least one modern backend programming language and associated frameworks. Solid understanding of database technologies, including relational databases (SQL) and No SQL solutions. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker). Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong grasp of software architecture patterns.
