Technical Lead – API Engineering & Platform Integration
We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Lead to oversee the design, development, and integration of our core API ecosystem. This role combines hands-on backend engineering with technical leadership, guiding a team of developers and systems analysts to build secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
Drawing on engineering best practices from leading financial institutions, you will define the technical direction, champion engineering excellence, and ensure our platforms deliver exceptional reliability, observability, and business value.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Delivery
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team while promoting collaboration and engineering best practices.
Work closely with Product Owners to refine user stories and priorities, and partner with Solution Architects to design robust technical solutions.
Manage and deliver multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps, timelines, and business objectives.
Architecture, Integration & Cloud
Design, review, and implement secure, scalable RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
Lead complex backend and third-party integrations, including secure financial message transformation and optimized transaction routing.
Drive continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure, enabling efficient platform adoption while maintaining performance, scalability, and code quality.
Git Workflow & DevOps Governance
Establish and maintain Git branching strategies, code promotion processes, and development standards.
Enforce clean development practices, including atomic commits, conventional commit messages, pre-commit validation, formatting, linting, and secret scanning.
Define pull request governance with mandatory peer reviews, automated security and quality checks, architecture validation, and successful integration testing before merge.
Oversee post-merge automation, including deployment to staging and UAT environments, artifact versioning, smoke testing, and deployment monitoring.
Testing, Reliability & Production Support
Serve as the highest technical escalation point for diagnosing and resolving critical production issues.
Ensure comprehensive deployment validation through sanity and integration testing across environments before production releases.
Champion system reliability, observability, and proactive monitoring by implementing automated health checks, error detection, and incident management practices.
