Senior Backend Engineer

Salary: Rp 11.000.000 – Rp 15.000.000 per month

WHY WE NEED YOU

We are looking for a talented and experienced English speaking Senior Backend Engineer to join our Jakarta team in a hybrid work arrangement. You will lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications, driving architecture decisions across backend services, APIs, and distributed systems to ensure scalability, reliability, maintainability, and performance. You will be a technical leader within our development team, making architecture decisions, driving code quality, and mentoring junior developers while delivering complex features across our digital products, and play a key role in driving the adoption of AI-assisted development practices, leading the effective use of AI-enabled engineering tool solutions to improve developer productivity, code quality, test coverage, and delivery velocity.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

– Backend Development - Architect, design, and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable backend applications using ASP.NET Core (.NET 8/9) , following modern software engineering principles and best practices.

– 5+ years of professional software development experience, including strong hands-on expertise in .NET Core/C#

– Strong experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL/ MySQL, MariaDB), data modelling, query optimization, and ORM technologies such as Entity Framework Core.

– Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on Azure or AWS using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern observability practices.

– API Integration - Integrate with RESTful APIs and backend services; handle real-time data via WebSockets or Server-Sent Events, deployed on split into edge APIs, feed-ingestion services, and background worker/processor services

– AI-Enabled Development Practices - Lead effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve team productivity, code quality, test coverage, and delivery velocity while ensuring security, maintainability, and architectural standards are upheld.

– Mentorship - Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers; contribute to technical decisions and overall development strategy.

– Collaboration - Work closely with UX/UI designers, QAs, and product managers in an Agile environment to deliver features end-to-end.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

– 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications using .NET.

– Expert proficiency in ASP.NET Core (.NET 8/9) with proven experience designing and developing scalable, enterprise-grade applications.

– Experience with messaging technologies (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus)

– Experience implementing observability using Application Insights, Grafana, Datadog, Elastic, or OpenTelemetry

– Experience working on high-availability distributed systems

– Experience with Git and deployment CI/CD pipelines

– Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication with cross-functional teams

– Experience designing event-driven or microservices-based architectures.

– Experience working with AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT, Claude or similar platforms is highly desirable.

– Professional proficiency in English is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

– Experience in Agency and Credit platform highly preferred

– Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred

– Familiarity with React and TypeScript is an advantage for effective collaboration with frontend teams.

– Experience in iGaming, fintech, or high-traffic consumer products
