Senior Backend Engineer

As Senior Backend Engineer, you will design and evolve scalable backend systems for OneSuite, shaping architecture and patterns across multiple charters. You’ll write production-grade code, tackle distributed systems challenges, and influence engineering practices without direct supervision. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and performant services that power marketing intelligence and automation. This role offers hands-on ownership and impact on platform-level backend decisions in a data-driven, hybrid environment.

• Architect distributed backend services and APIs using Python, FastAPI, Node.js, or equivalent; define modular, scalable components for orchestration, data services, and platform integrations
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and multi-tenant access controls
• Write high-quality, production-ready code; integrate with external APIs and manage CI/CD pipelines and IaC
• Enhance performance, observability, and reliability with tracing, logging, metrics, dashboards, and alerting; partner with SRE on SLIs/SLOs
• Collaborate with Studio, AOE, DFP, Channel, and SRE teams; translate product requirements into backend capabilities; ensure architectural consistency across charters

• Demonstrable backend engineering experience with architectural ownership over services or distributed systems
• Expertise in Python, FastAPI, Flask, or Node.js and modern backend patterns
• Strong understanding of microservices, concurrency, async programming, and event-driven architectures
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, MongoDB)
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP)
• Strong CI/CD experience using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Argo, or similar tools
• Deep knowledge of observability practices — logs, metrics, traces, performance analysis
• Proven ability to write clean, testable, well-structured production code
