Our client is a financial services company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the design and growth of server-side systems for a consumer-facing application, taking business goals from concept through to production. The work blends service architecture, money-movement logic, data handling and metrics-based decision making.
What you'll do
- Re-architect key services such as accounting records, transaction handling and third-party payment connections so they can handle a much larger load.
- Create dependable, high-volume automated processes that run large numbers of scheduled transactions each day.
- Take in and process large amounts of partner-provided data to inform automated decisions.
- Query and analyze data with SQL to shape technical choices, track system health and confirm business results.
- Build and run services that communicate through messages and background jobs.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 2 to 5 years of backend engineering experience, with at least half of your career spent on server-side work.
- A history of owning a technical result from start to finish and explaining the business effect it had.
- Experience at a startup or fast-growing company, with comfort operating amid uncertainty and limited direction.
- Solid grounding in building systems that run across many machines and handle large volumes of data.
- Strong SQL and analytical skills, plus a habit of relying on metrics when making decisions.
- Exposure to fast-moving, data-intensive industries.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Broad full-stack ability with genuine depth on the server side rather than a front-end focus.
- Willingness to work on-site five days a week.
