Senior Backend Engineer

Location: Fully Remote (GTA, Ottawa, Montreal)

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with 10+ years of experience building scalable, high-performance distributed systems. You'll design and develop resilient backend services that power data-intensive applications and real-time platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

• Develop microservices-based applications.

• Build high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.

• Develop real-time data ingestion and processing pipelines.

• Work with time-series databases and large-scale data platforms.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of backend software engineering experience.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript and Python.

• Experience building microservices and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with time-series databases, real-time data pipelines, and high-volume data processing.

• Strong knowledge of API design, performance optimization, and cloud-native development.

Nice to Have

• Kafka or RabbitMQ

• Docker and Kubernetes

• AWS, Azure, or GCP

• CI/CD and DevOps practices
