Senior Backend Engineer

Salary: SGD 5000 - 10000 per month

We're looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop and maintain secure, scalable digital platforms supporting Singapore's environmental sustainability, public health and regulatory services.
This is an opportunity to go beyond coding and make a meaningful impact by taking end-to-end ownership of backend development, AWS cloud infrastructure, system architecture and production reliability, while building mission-critical solutions that support essential public services.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable backend applications and REST APIs using Node.js, TypeScript and PostgreSQL.
  
  
• Take end-to-end responsibility for backend systems, including architecture, development, deployment, monitoring and production support.
  
  
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS EC2, EKS, VPC and IAM, ensuring system reliability, security and performance.
  
  
• Implement Terraform/AWS CDK, CI/CD pipelines, Docker and Kubernetes to automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment.
  
  
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, security hardening and troubleshooting to maintain stable, compliant production environments.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• 6–7+ years of experience in Backend or Software Engineering, with proven ownership of production-grade applications.
  
  
• Strong hands-on backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs and PostgreSQL.
  
  
• Solid experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly EC2, EKS, VPC, IAM, cloud networking and security.
  
  
• Proficiency in Linux administration, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform/AWS CDK and CI/CD practices.
  
  
• Good understanding of production monitoring, infrastructure automation, security hardening and troubleshooting. Experience in Government Cloud (GCC) or highly regulated environments is an added advantage.
