Summary
Senior backend engineer at RavenPack (hybrid, Marbella) building scalable data systems and high-throughput ETL/ELT pipelines that power AI workflows for finance. Day to day: Python services, REST/MCP APIs, AWS serverless/container infrastructure, Airflow automation, and Datadog observability.
In this role, you will design, build, and operate scalable, high-performance systems that power data-driven AI workflows for finance. You will collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to deliver technically sophisticated solutions that align with our GenAI platform. You will tackle complex backend and data engineering challenges, shaping how financial data is ingested, processed, and served. - Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for data-driven solutions
- Design and implement high-throughput ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and semi-structured data
- Lead workflow automation using tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions
- Build and maintain high-concurrency REST and MCP APIs
- Design and deploy AWS infrastructure supporting end-to-end apps (Serverless and Containerized)
- Champion clean, tested, and maintainable code with strong CI/CD and performance tuning
- Implement full-stack observability with tools like Datadog for high availability and rapid incident response
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field (PhD preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience designing REST APIs
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (Postgres, Oracle, DynamoDB, Time-series, Snowflake)
- Proven ETL/ELT pipeline development and scaling
- Hands-on AWS experience (S3, Lambda, etc.)
- Bash scripting, Docker containerization, Git
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration in English
