Senior Backend Engineer

You will build, ship, and maintain reliable, secure, scalable backend services in Go. You will own features from design through deployment, develop APIs and SDKs, and support identity flows including login, MFA, SSO, and token validation. You will improve legacy systems, production observability, code quality, and developer experience while mentoring engineers and collaborating across functions.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship reliable, secure, scalable backend services in Go
• Own features from design to deployment with attention to maintainability, security, and performance
• Design and build APIs and SDKs
• Build and maintain user creation, login, MFA, SSO, and token-validation flows
• Design multi-tenant services with data isolation and per-account configuration
• Participate in architecture discussions and write or review ADRs
• Refactor legacy code without breaking existing features
• Own production readiness through dashboards, monitoring, alerting, tracing, log analysis, incident response, and root-cause analysis
• Write clear, testable, well-documented code
• Use and review AI-assisted code in daily development
• Collaborate with product, frontend, design, and platform teams
• Contribute to technical scoping and estimation
• Reduce technical debt and improve developer experience
• Mentor engineers and provide code reviews

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 2+ years of hands-on production Go experience
• Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query performance
• Experience designing and building REST APIs
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
• Experience with RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of OAuth2, JWT, sessions, and tokens
• Experience with observability tools, ideally Datadog
• Experience using AI coding assistants and reviewing their output
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms
• Working knowledge of React
• Good written and spoken English
