Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Backend/Integration Developer (10+ years) to design and build RESTful APIs and integration services using Java, Spring Boot, Azure/AKS, and enterprise integration patterns-17129/17136
Location: Toronto or Waterloo- Hybrid 3 days a week
Duration: 6 Months (Change of Extension)
Join a high-visibility initiative supporting advisor-facing digital capabilities focused on electronic tracking (eTrack) and electronic documents (eDocs). This role delivers backend integration services connecting enterprise source systems including Salesforce and Alfresco with advisor portal applications. The position includes technical leadership across API contracts, entitlements/access control, and complex enterprise integrations within an Agile delivery environment.

- Advanced RESTful API / microservices backend development in Java / Spring Boot (Maven-based, deployed to Azure/AKS), including secure API design
- Integration architecture—designing and building API contracts and integration patterns across enterprise source systems, including messaging/queue-based patterns (JMS/ActiveMQ)
- Entitlements and access control design—building authentication/authorization from the ground up
- SQL and data mapping/transformation between source systems and front-end API (UI) contracts
- Senior-level hands-on delivery—builds complex integrations independently, sets technical patterns through code, and provides code review/mentorship while remaining a primary contributor
