Stelfox is working with a growing Dublin-based organisation seeking an experienced Senior Backend Python Engineer to join their engineering team on a long-term contract basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on business-critical platforms, designing and building scalable backend applications, APIs, and services that support key strategic initiatives across the organisation.
You'll be joining a collaborative Agile environment where you'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, contribute to architectural discussions, and help drive engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining high-quality Python applications and services
- Designing scalable REST APIs and backend solutions
- Translating business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Collaborating with Product Owners, UX teams, Architects, and Software Engineers
- Troubleshooting performance issues and improving system reliability
- Participating in code reviews and mentoring junior developers where required
- Driving continuous improvements across development and deployment processes
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of commercial Python development experience
- Strong experience with Flask and/or Django
- Strong SQL and relational database expertise
- Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and development tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Artifactory
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
