About our team
We create value for private customers by developing personal finance management tools, leveraging transaction data and analytics to help customers better understand and act on their financial situation. We also enable customers to access and utilize data from other banks (PSD2) within Nordea Mobile channels, and support advisors with digital services.
Our team is based in Oulu, Finland, and works with a modern backend stack including Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, and cloud platforms.
What you’ll be doing
- Drive quality practices in daily work – including test automation, validation strategies, and engineering best practices
- Design, implement, and maintain automated API test suites using REST Assured and Java-based testing frameworks
- Take responsibility for quality assurance and reliability of backend services, ensuring high standards across new features and existing solutions
- Drive release processes and support release activities.
- Monitor service health and performance using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus, proactively identifying issues and ensuring system stability
- Analyse logs and production behaviour in tools like Splunk to troubleshoot incidents, identify patterns, and support data-driven improvements
- Contribute to development activities (design, implementation, and maintenance of microservices) in a modern architecture integrating with legacy systems, AWS/GCP, databases, and third-party providers as part of the team, with a strong focus on quality and maintainability
- Collaborate closely with backend and front-end developers and business experts to ensure robust, scalable, and well-tested solutions
This role is based in Oulu with a hybrid setup, 3 days per week in the office on average.
Who you are

- A quality-driven engineer with a strong sense of ownership over reliability and production stability

- A technically capable developer with interest in the financial domain
Your background and skills include:
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and test automation with focus on backend
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, REST Assured or similar
- Good understanding of Git, CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins).
- Knowledge on monitoring tools like, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.
