General Position Summary: Firm Information Technology Services – Senior Backend Software Engineer

The IT development team of the Firm IT is responsible for developing and maintaining bespoke platforms and applications for our business users. Our team operates with a product-centric approach, ensuring solutions are user-focused and long-term ready. Our development process is agile, using latest / advanced technologies to ensure speed, quality, and innovation.

MNP set up MNP SPARK its GCC in Bangalore in May 2025 with a focus on enabling the firm drive growth, efficiency, customer delight and innovation, by leveraging high quality talent in India. MNP Spark is like any other MNP region/office - front facing, client focused but working with all of MNP regions in Canada to deliver services

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, grow, and maintain common backend services, our data integration hub, and other internal solutions
  
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint review, and retrospective
  
• Perform code reviews to provide meaningful and helpful feedback to other developers to ensure alignment with architecture, security, and other critical elements
  
• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  
• Mentor other developers through pair programming, code reviews, demos, and lunch and learns
  
• Doing technical investigations (e.g., proof of concepts, analyses, etc.) to determine technology risk and feasibility
  
• Write unit, system, and integration tests achieving a high degree of code coverage
  
• Leverage Azure DevOps and GitHub to manage application lifecycle, leveraging your in-depth knowledge of Boards, Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, and Test Plans
  

Requirements

Qualification

Skills:

• Experience leveraging WebView2 (or similar) to integrate web applications with desktop solutions ​
  

• Experience designing and developing domain services that connect to SQL and NoSQL backends
  
• Deep experience with .NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, C#
  
• Experience with service bus and queues in Azure
  
• Experience with SQL and NOSQL querying and design
  
• Experience with CSS and JavaScript (Typescript)
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, with proficiency in Terraform is considered an asset
  
• Solid working knowledge of Azure
  
• Strong ability to estimate development timelines and assign resource allocation
  
• Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies, including Scrum
