  • Design, develop, and evolve APIs and backend services.
  • Design and deliver AI-powered user-facing features, including prompt engineering, retrieval strategies, evaluations, guardrails, and quality measurement.
  • Write, review, and improve code with a strong focus on quality, security, clarity, and performance.
  • Help clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in pair programming sessions and technical discussions.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers through pairing and constructive pull request feedback.
  • Track and evaluate emerging AI tools and techniques, sharing insights with the team.
  • Contribute to architecture and systems design discussions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and share knowledge across the team.

Requirements

Must Have

  • Senior-level production experience with Clojure.
  • Practical experience building applications using AI/LLM technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and query optimization.

  • Availability for at least 6 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time business hours.

Nice to Have

  • Experience mentoring engineers in functional programming.
  • Production experience building AI-powered applications.
  • Experience with Snowflake in production environments and analytical modeling.
  • Experience with Terraform.
  • Experience leading complex backend or platform initiatives.
