Senior Backend Software Engineer

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own core backend services end to end on a small engineering team, from initial design through production and ongoing operation. The work centers on building reliable, accurate systems that handle growing data volume, with room to shape technical standards and decide what gets built alongside customers.

What you'll do

- Own backend systems from first design through production and long-term maintenance.

- Build services that keep performing accurately as data volume increases each month.

- Solve open-ended problems involving messy data, abuse prevention and infrastructure under heavy load.

- Apply AI where it meaningfully extends what a small team can deliver.

- Set the bar for architecture, code quality and delivery speed.

- Work directly with customers to help decide what gets built, not only how.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 2 to 5 years of experience building and running production backend systems.

- Exceptional TypeScript skills.

- Strong data modeling skills and the ability to make systems both fast and correct at scale.

- A track record of taking difficult, ambiguous problems to production with little oversight.

- Ability to hold high standards while moving quickly.

- Good product judgment and a focus on whether shipped work improves outcomes for customers.

Bonus points

- Backend background in adtech, marketplace or payments products.

- Time spent in an early-stage company or on a demanding, high-traffic engineering team.

- Familiarity with systems where financial accuracy and user trust are critical.

- Experience delivering AI-powered features to production users.
