We are looking for a Senior Backstage.io GCP DevOps Engineer to build and operate a developer platform on Google Cloud Platform, with a deep focus on integrations, infrastructure, and deployment automation. You will work across distributed teams, align with a workday shift up to 2 PM PST, and deliver platform capabilities end-to-end. Apply now.
Responsibilities
- Design and operate infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform to support platform services
- Build and maintain hosting and deployment workflows for web applications and Node.js backends
- Integrate Elastic Stack entities into a Backstage catalog and related platform views
- Implement Backstage extensions, templates, and render scripts to enable self-service workflows
- Build a secure capability to run Terraform scripts as part of platform automation
- Integrate JIRA Service Desk capabilities into the developer portal experience
- Integrate Jenkins CI/CD capabilities into the platform to improve developer workflows
- Collaborate with distributed, cross-functional teams while aligning to a work shift up to 2 PM PST
- Apply AI-assisted development practices to improve delivery speed and quality
Requirements
- 3+ years of DevOps experience for web applications and Node.js hosting and deployment
- Google Cloud Platform experience supporting production workloads
- Elastic Stack (ELK) integration experience
- Ability to work independently across distributed, cross-functional teams
- Strong ownership mindset and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows for productivity
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)
Nice to have
- GitHub Copilot experience for AI-assisted development and agent workflows
- Jenkins administration or pipeline development experience
- Node.js and Node.js CLI development experience
- TypeScript development experience
- Redis experience for caching or platform services
