Senior BI Developer
Summary
Senior BI Developer (3–5 yrs experience) who builds and optimizes analytical datasets, data models, and interactive Power BI dashboards in a Databricks-based analytics environment. Daily work centers on advanced SQL (MSSQL and Databricks SQL), Delta Lake tables, query performance tuning, data quality checks, and Power BI semantic models using DAX and Power Query.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior BI Developer with 3–5 years of relevant experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in SQL, Databricks, and Microsoft Power BI, with hands-on experience in BI development, analytical data modeling, dashboard development, data quality management, and performance optimization. This role will focus on developing and maintaining efficient analytical datasets, data models, and BI solutions within a Databricks-based analytics environment, ensuring that business and data analytics teams have access to accurate and reliable data.
Key responsibilities
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation using MSSQL and Databricks SQL
Design, develop, and maintain analytical tables, views, and summary tables to support business analytics and reporting
Develop stored procedures and SQL-based data processing logic
Analyze and optimize query performance for large datasets
Understand existing data models and schemas, and implement improvements where necessary
Develop and maintain analytical datasets and data models using Databricks SQL
Work with Delta Lake-based data structures for efficient data querying and analysis
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and business reports
Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through validation and quality checks
About you
3–5 years of relevant working experience in Business Intelligence development, Data Analytics, or a related field
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Advanced SQL proficiency, including complex queries, JOINs, CTEs, window functions, and subqueries
Hands-on development experience with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) or similar relational database systems
Experience developing stored procedures, views, and complex aggregation queries
Hands-on experience in SQL-based data development within a Databricks environment
Strong proficiency in Databricks SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analytical queries
Hands-on experience developing dashboards using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
Experience in Power BI data modeling and semantic model development
Proficiency in DAX and Power Query
