Senior BIM Coordinator
Summary
Leads BIM coordination for large construction projects, ensuring clash-free models and compliance with standards using Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage BIM coordination activities across multidisciplinary projects (Architectural, Structural and MEP disciplines).
- Develop, maintain, and oversee BIM models to ensure compliance with project requirements, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and industry standards.
- Coordinate and resolve design clashes using BIM software and facilitate clash detection workshops with project stakeholders.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Engineers, and BIM Managers to ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Review and validate BIM models, drawings, and documentation to ensure quality, accuracy, and constructability.
- Establish and enforce BIM standards, workflows, templates, and best practices within the project team.
- Manage the production and submission of BIM deliverables, including authority submission drawings, shop drawings, and as-built models.
- Monitor model progress, ensure timely updates, and coordinate design changes across disciplines.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings, prepare coordination reports, and communicate technical issues and resolutions to project teams.
- Mentor and guide BIM Coordinators, BIM Modellers, and CAD personnel to enhance team competency and project delivery.
- Support digital engineering initiatives, including model-based quantity take-offs, 4D/5D BIM workflows, and Common Data Environment (CDE) management where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with organizational BIM standards, project specifications, and client requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Services, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant BIM experience in the construction, engineering, or consultancy industry, with at least 3 years in a BIM coordination or leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and related BIM tools.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary BIM coordination for large-scale building, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
- In-depth understanding of BIM standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), ISO 19650 principles, and local regulatory requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge of building design, construction methodologies, and project delivery processes.
- Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience conducting clash detection, model reviews, and constructability assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple BIM deliverables within tight project timelines.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities with a commitment to developing junior BIM professionals.
- Professional BIM certification (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional, BCA BIM Certification, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
