Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join TYLin’s Bridge Sector team in Manila.This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team, contributing to a wide range of exciting infrastructure projects across the Philippines. We are seeking a technically strong Senior Bridge Engineer and seller-doer who is eager to take on a leadership role in both project execution and client engagement.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Apply strong technical expertise and broad experience in the preliminary and detailed design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation-related structures.
- Provide technical support during construction phases, including conducting site inspections and overseeing contract administration as required.
- Prepare engineering drawings and documentation for projects of varying complexity and scope, ensuring compliance with applicable standards (e.g., AASHTO, DPWH DGCS) and internal procedures.
- Serve in a key technical role on both conventional and alternative delivery bridge projects nationwide.
- Lead multi-disciplinary bridge design projects for public sector clients, ensuring high-quality, timely, and budget-conscious delivery.
- Act as the Primary Client Manager for various districts in the Philippines, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring ongoing satisfaction.
- Lead proposal development efforts, with a focus on strengthening and expanding existing relationships within the transportation sector.
- Serve as Pursuit Lead for key opportunities in the country, particularly within the Manila Bridge Sector, and actively support alternative delivery pursuits.
- Represent the team in public presentations, including support with technical and design-related communications to stakeholders.
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Bridge Director or leadership team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering required; Masters preferred.
- Must be a registered professional engineer in the Philippines or a member of International Engineering Charters or Organizations.
- 10+ years’ experience in the design of steel and concrete bridges.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers is required.
- Familiarity with special seismic provisions and steel connection design provisions of the Philippine and AISC codes.
- Strong project management and client relationship management skills, with a solid understanding of vertical and horizontal engineering principles and applicable codes.
- Requires knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards.
- Expertise in one or more analysis and/or design software packages.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Experience with BIM software (e.g. Revit) is preferred.
- Travel may be required.
- Must possess communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective project team collaboration and relationship building.
