Senior Building Engineer

Job Responsibilities\:

  • Document Control & Statutory Compliance\: Oversee approval management for construction drawings, method statements, material submittals, statutory filings, and official site correspondence (RFIs, CVIs, and abortive work records).

  • Technical Leadership & Problem Solving\: Drive technical coordination among architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve complex engineering problems, advise on tender technical requirements, and formulate site layout plans.

  • Program Planning & Progress Management\: Lead the development of 3-month rolling programs, short-term schedules, and Building Services/Statutory Flow Charts; direct site progress meetings and compile Main Contractor progress reports.

  • Quality Control & TCP Responsibilities\: Execute Technical Competent Person (TCP) duties, conduct quality and safety audits with the Compliance Department, oversee factory visits, and enforce subcontractor adherence to contract specifications.

  • Procurement & Subcontractor Management\: Define material procurement specifications, timing, and quality standards; partner with Project Managers on subletting schedules and monitor material wastage on site.

  • Cost Control & Claims Preparation\: Develop cost-effective construction methods, review daily work records and abortive works, and compile documentation with time/cost implications to support future claims.
