Senior Business Analyst (1-Year Secondment Contract)
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst for a Hong Kong based Conglomerate in the Property & Retail industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging business needs and technology solutions, with a strong focus on retail digital touchpoints and systems.
CORE DUTIES
Work closely with business owners to collect, assess, and document both functional and technical requirements in a structured manner.
Serve as the first line of support when users raise system incidents; obtain the necessary context, evaluate the operational impact, and recreate problems from the user’s standpoint.
Act as the principal link between business and technical teams. Recognise recurring issues and help shape longer-term technical remedies.
Turn business requests into well-defined functional specifications, user stories, process maps, and technical documentation that development teams can action.
Communicate technical progress and changes back to business stakeholders.
Plan and run requirements workshops, solution walkthroughs, and stakeholder alignment sessions.
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing, including preparation of test scenarios, review of results, and verification that the delivered solution meets the original business intent.
Candidates with somewhat less experience may be considered for a Business Analyst role.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Business Analyst, ideally with a stronger technical orientation.
Solid analytical and problem-solving ability, together with facilitation skills and the capacity to juggle several workstreams.
Excellent written and spoken communication, able to engage credibly with both business users and technical specialists.
Self-starter who is detail-conscious and comfortable working independently against tight project deadlines.
Strong grasp of the SDLC, with the ability to contribute and deliver across all phases.
Working familiarity with platforms and solutions such as mobile applications, OCR, AI-driven automation, billing, or leasing systems.
