Senior Business Analyst
Summary
Contract Senior Business Analyst (until Feb 2027, remote for Baltic States/Poland citizens) supporting regulatory reporting in a banking environment: analyzing ECB remediation and reporting requirements, automating manual processes, and liaising between business and IT. Core stack: SQL, data warehousing, Jira, Confluence.
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support regulatory reporting initiatives within a banking environment. The role focuses on analyzing and implementing regulatory requirements, driving process automation, reducing manual adjustments, and contributing to ECB remediation activities. The consultant will serve as a liaison between business and IT stakeholders, with strong expectations around SQL proficiency, data warehouse knowledge, and hands-on experience with banking financial data and reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and implement new business and regulatory reporting requirements
- Drive automation of manual file-based processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual adjustments
- Support ECB remediation activities and ensure alignment with supervisory expectations
- Act as a key liaison between business and IT stakeholders across cross-functional teams
- Translate complex datasets and statistical concepts into clear business insights
- Model and optimize business processes using established business process modelling techniques
- Translate regulatory reporting rules and validation logic into clear business and data requirements
- Contribute to the design and improvement of data warehouse and reporting solutions
- Write and maintain requirements documentation using Confluence and manage tasks in Jira
- Perform data analysis and reporting using SQL and Microsoft Office
- Engage and manage stakeholders at multiple levels, ensuring clear communication and alignment
Must-Have Requirements:
- Strong business knowledge of banking regulatory reporting processes and frameworks
- Solid understanding of banking products, systems, processes, and financial data
- Proven experience in business analysis and requirements engineering
- Experience in business process modelling
- Ability to analyze and translate regulatory reporting requirements into clear business and data requirements
- Understanding of reporting rules, validation logic, and supervisory expectations
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working in cross-functional teams
- Good understanding of Data Literacy principles
- Knowledge of software development processes and methodologies
- Understanding of data warehouse and reporting concepts and solutions
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on regulatory reporting experience
- Knowledge of BCBS239 principles and requirements
- Experience with ECB remediation initiatives
- Background in finance or banking transformation projects
