Senior Business Analyst
Summary
Senior Business Analyst in finance, partnering with leaders to drive budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decisions using financial models and BI tools.
You’ll play a key role across financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and commercial analysis, while partnering with senior leaders and business teams to support informed decision-making.
About the Role In this role, you will:
- Partner with key business units and senior stakeholders to understand performance, identify opportunities and drive improvements.
- Lead and support the budgeting and forecasting process, including consolidation and preparation of Board materials.
- Prepare monthly financial analysis, management reporting and ad-hoc commercial analysis.
- Develop financial models and scenarios to support revenue and cost growth decisions.
- Analyse key business metrics including profitability, recovery and productivity.
- Provide commercial insights and decision support for strategic projects and initiatives.
- Support the Commercial team and broader Executive Leadership team with financial analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve FP&A processes, systems and reporting.
- Contribute to new business acquisition analysis and forecasting.
- Work closely with Technology & Digital teams on finance, payroll and practice management systems.
- Develop clear and compelling financial presentations for senior stakeholders and the Board.
You will ideally have:
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Approximately 5+ years’ experience in management accounting, financial accounting, FP&A or business analysis.
- Experience within a professional services environment is highly desirable.
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting and analytical capabilities.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, Power Pivot, lookups and financial modelling.
- Experience working with financial and business intelligence systems such as SAP, BST, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, TM1 or Cognos.
- The ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into clear, commercially relevant insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to identifying process improvements and challenging existing practices.
- Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
