Senior Business Analyst (BA)

We're seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Business Analyst (BA) to be part of our team developing back-office applications for a major systemic bank in Greece. Your primary focus will be building, extending, and improving intricate back-office workflows, with an emphasis on creating new applications and growing existing software solutions. You'll serve as the critical link connecting business stakeholders, operations teams, and engineering squads, converting intricate business and stakeholder needs into clear, actionable functional specifications.

Responsibilities

• Gather, examine, and document thorough business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications for new back-office systems and workflow automation initiatives
• Produce detailed Functional Design Documents (FDD) and Agile User Stories complete with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Develop and model comprehensive business processes and workflows applying industry-standard notations like BPMN and UML
• Establish conceptual data and domain models, conceptual API contracts, data mappings, and integration specifications for backend services
• Build wireframes while working closely alongside the UX team to develop target designs fulfilling all functional and business needs
• Engage actively in Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Grooming, Dailies, Retrospectives), functioning as the functional point of reference for development and QA teams across the sprint lifecycle
• Ensure full requirements traceability spanning from business objectives down to functional specifications
• Contribute to risk assessment activities aimed at identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential delivery or functional risks
• Facilitate structured change management procedures to manage scope adjustments and maintain stakeholder alignment

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years working professionally as a Business Analyst within complex enterprise settings (prior banking sector experience considered a significant advantage)
• Strong grasp of back-office operations, workflow automation, or intricate transaction processing lifecycles
• Solid comprehension of backend logic and implementation concepts (APIs, microservices architecture, data flows)
• Background in establishing conceptual API contracts, system integrations, and data mappings
• Proficiency in BPMN and UML modeling (utilizing tools such as Enterprise Architect, Camunda, Lucidchart, or comparable platforms)
• Demonstrated capability to produce high-quality FDDs and User Stories within ticketing systems (Azure DevOps / ADO preferred), along with experience designing wireframes and collaborating with UX teams
• Practical experience operating within Agile Scrum frameworks
• Skilled in applying requirements traceability methodologies
• Background participating in risk management processes
• Familiarity with structured change management procedures
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation capabilities
• Superior verbal and written communication abilities in both Greek and English
• Capacity to operate independently within fast-moving, client-facing settings
